can't sleep

I can't sleep because I have a cold and took dayquill which is keeping me awake all night.

Well I have to say I love my job. It's extremely challenging but so rewarding. Trying to organize an entire organization . . . I feel we're making progress daily.

the kids are so much fun. Johnathan is a speed crawler now and Colette is finally learning that bottles are only for bedtime. nicolle's teacher today told her she has the most drawing talent of anyone in her art class, she made some really cool pictures mixing pencil and watercolor today. I hope she'll stick with it, she's really good.

i love the snow but it was nice to have some sunshine. I got to go snowboarding a few weeks ago with a group of korean kids and it was so fun. I'd like to make it out into the mountains more, nicolle and I went cross country skiing this past weekend and the sunshine was great.

Oh mom and chris sorry I have your guitar, I took it for a talent show on Saturday with our branch. I played the guitar part, recorded and looped it, played a bari sax, looped it, and then played a song on the flute for nicolle, all live in front of the branch. It was a little awkward but fun to do something different. nicolle tells me she likes the bari better than any of the other saxes, she says it's sexy. mom says the bari's sexy because it's like an older man who takes his time, and hits the lower notes not because he can't go high anymore but because slow and low is so much better. My friend's letting me borrow it until august so hopefully by then I can find a permanent bari addition to my saxophone family.

well I voted for Obama of course. who else? but I don't talk politics with family or in the workplace, too much conflict. It seems about everyone I know is pretty conservative politically, so it's best to keep it hush.

It's been fun doing the hip-hop thing again, I like the combination of jazz and rap. We filled the club to 70% capacity on our first show, hopefully this will go far. I'm learning moderation as I burn my musicians out by working them all too hard. My boss tells me constantly to slow down, that other people don't want to go at that pace. It's a learning process, that's for sure. Managing my own bands has taught me a lot abut managing employees, it's slowly coming into place at work. At first I thought I had to fix everything and get it all under control right away, but I see now that it's a process. who wants to be done with something too fast anyway, the journey's what it's all about. Keeping your integrity and ethics in place throughout the journay is more important than having the successful accomplishment.

well I'm all doped up on over the counter cold medicine, imagine if I got some real drugs. I drank some coke the other day and it wiped me out the next day. pretty sad.

well if anybody's in town tomorrow night I'm playing a valentine's dinner at La Parrilla Latina 7-9pm, 4115 South Redwood Road Taylorsville. Maybe the snow won't be so bad tomorrow, but the way it was coming down tonight I guess we'll have to wait and see.

hasta luego

Yea for Obama! Joey and I are fans. You're right, you have to be careful who you say that to, but at least now there's no competition with Romney. (No offense to Romney). Glad to hear things are going well for all of you! Take Care!

So that's where the guitar went! And you can talk to me about politics--although I almost feel guilty about voting for Obama over Clinton when I read some of the straight-up sexist and misogynistic statements about her--some by Obama supporters.

It's so crazy, I saw his ad and decided to vote for him.
I did not like Romney and I don't know anything about the others. I don't really like any of the Rep's.
I know it's not about who you like or not, but I'm going with with my gut this time.
