clever title

I wonder what the world will be like when Colette is older, if her obsession with video games will mean she will be an outcast or a nerdy boys dream girl...
We do try to create more of a balance by taking the babies outside for mandatory play time. It seems to me that the kids adhere to that rule that things in motion tend to stay in motion until acted upon..or at least the kids will want to continue an activity for as long as possible until we coerce them into doing something else, and then they want to continue that until the next thing we make them do...it can be exhausting. At least at the zoo we were practically the only ones there which provided optimal viewing. The big gorilla growled at us a bit for interrupting his tv watching, which made the kids all the more entranced by him.

Holidays are F-U-N

The kids got lots of their favorites, and we didn't get any good pictures because we misplaced our camera charger (found it today, hooray!). We spent most of Christmas eve and day with the Bennions, either here at our house in SLC or in Provo at their house. Rob, Michelle, Chris and I watched Avatar on Christmas day, which was amazing, and then we went to the Esplin party on Saturday, which was also very fun. Then Sunday night Colette and I flew to NY to catch a plane to Orlando and then to Costa Rica. The trip was hideous but it was cheap so worth doing (at least once). On the 3rd Rob and Johnathan arrived after a much smoother trip and met all the relatives that had only seen him in pictures. We ate delicious food, watched the bull fights a-la tica and worked on the house. We all got a cold that got worse when we got back.
Oh and I start school today. This is my second to last semester, I may get to walk in May and then do a last semester in the summer, then on to job hunting...blah. In any case we hope you all had great holidays and promise to keep in touch.

TLC's "Little Chocolatiers"

This chocolate shop is across the street from our new apartment in the aves, Nicolle says she sees them filming there all the time for TLC's show "Little Chocolatiers". I haven't been into the shop except once over the summer to buy Colette ice cream after she got a shot from the doctor.

I am dreaming of a white...

So we (read Rob) finally put up the Christmas lights, so it is starting to feel festive around here. Of course, come Wednesday the 16th around 10:30 am things are going to get a little wacky. I have been trying to contain my creative energy for the sake of finals and school work, but at the time mentioned above I will be done with school until the 11th, which means I can fully dedicate myself to all things craft and Christmas. Is it weird that I am more excited about making stuff than I am about Christmas day? If it is, well I guess just deal with it.
On a none crazy note, the Bennions took us all to see The Princess and the frog which was a HUGE hit with the kids, especially Colette, who laughed and screamed and editorialized throughout the movie. We were just overjoyed that they sat through the whole thing, especially Johnathan, who has made even kids movies a thing of at home screenings because of his tendency to crawl over seats into other people's laps..Of course it didn't hurt that this movie was basically empty at 3 pm on a Monday. Next on the list for kids movies in the theaters..The Fantastic Mr. Fox...maybe we can see that after my last final...

more long overdue pictures

long over due pictures

I just realized how under represented Rob is...but if he wants pictures of himself up he has to do it himself :)
For those that don't know, Colette is wearing a traditional costarican dancing outfit (I made the skirt for her).
More pictures to come...

Pepper's annual halloween party

We went to Pepper Nix's annual halloween party again this year, she's a photographer in SLC who invites a bunch of "Wedding Professionals" to an annual party where we can relax rather than work (I play music at weddings). It's always a blast and especially fun because of the photos booth which she has there.

We watched an episode of the original star trek online, I think the episode was "Menagerie " in which Spock commandeers the enterprise mutinously to take pack Captain Peck or something to this world with an alien girl that looks like nicolle's dressed in the pictures. Lots of innuendo and green alien girl dancing in the episode.
