pictures
Sorry I haven't posted some good old pictures of the minkies in a while so here you go. The first picture (I think) is of Colette with Aunt Betsy demonstrating downward facing dog-a yoga move. I think that the kids would be good at yoga if they could stop being so wiggly long enough to hold a pose...they can pull their own socks of with their teeth after all.
The next is Colette with the awesome necklace I bought from Lia Sophia. It is pretty heavy and makes you feel like a goddess so naturally Colette didn't want to take it off.
Another day we went for a little stroll on Center Street in Provo. We checked out the pet store, an awesome book store and had pizza. Fun
Oh and last this is the little pirate that I made for Johnathan. Savvy? I made a doll for Colette first and J liked chewing on her so much I knew I had to make him something but I couldn't figure out what, until Michelle suggested a pirate. Sheer brilliance! Now Colette's doll that I was pretty proud of seems pretty lame. I will have to jazz her up a bit.
ps. If you do visit my crafty blog please leave me a comment. It makes me feel special to know that someone is looking at it.

Rob's band again at La Parrilla Latina in SLC

Hey everybody,
My band's playing again at La Parrilla. It's a nice opportunity to see my band play, we're going to Japan this fall and San Diego this summer. There's no cover charge so come, buy dinner, and enjoy!
If anybody has any requests of songs theyd like us to play then tell me beforehand and we'll do it!
La Parrilla Latina is located at 4115 south Redwood road, on the north-east end of the block.

sick as doggies
Or whatever else gets really sick. Colette becomes a mess when she doesn't feel well, whining incessantly and flinging her little fists around with surprising force. Then we give her medicine and she becomes the energizer bunny. Karla tells me that it was the same with Rob when he was little. Johnathan is similar but to a lesser and more tolerable degree. Rob went to the doctor and found out that he has bronchitis. Assuming that we all have the same thing we are one pathetic bunch. So if we are scarce for the next little while it is only because we feel like crap;) Happy Easter

more San Diego pictures
I love the little Bennion Totem pole of Colette, Rob and Johnathan, so cute. Then while we were walking along the beach shops a guy approached us with a weird scarf on. Then Rob was like ohh, look at the snake. I hadn't even noticed. Colette was pretty brave, she petted it easier than she pets most dogs. Then while we were at the zoo there was an cranky bird that was pecking people, Colette included. Oh and the hippos were cool.

California
The first picture is actually in Provo. Rob took the kids to the park to freeze..I mean to play. We got tired of listening to the same movie that Colette was watching so we tried to have her listen on the headphones. It was funny because she would randomly laugh at the movie.
The weather was GORGEOUS in California. There were also lots of dogs, so needless to say Colette loved meeting them all.

cutie pies
The weather has been lovely lately so we have gone on several walks in our S-U-B of a stroller. The kids pretty much luv it. On Saturday Rob took Colette x-country skiing, she had fun but when asked about it she responded "Iz scary". Oh well, better luck next time:) Johnathan is as sweet as ever, his four upper teeth have broken through his gums, I am not sure if that is what is causing him to smile like Todd (my dad) but the resemblance is uncanny. I am hoping dad will post a picture of himself smiling like this...maybe Kenzie has one somewhere? Anyway, it makes him all the more lovable. This week is a big week..I have an interview for a volunteer position at the hospital, I start training at JoAnn's and I have a JetBlue interview as well. Basically I am just checking my options. Then on Thursday night/Friday morning we are planning on going to San Diego for much needed RandR, especially before I start said employment. Well it is 2am and time to cuddle with my baby teddy bear. May you all be so lucky

sleeping
I don't know about the rest of you with your perfect children:) but we have major issues with getting the kids to sleep. As I am writing this (11pm) Colette is in her room with Rob, who is trying to sleep, while Colette kicks and whines and cries until she finally goes to sleep, a couple of hours later. Then there's Johnathan. He is hanging out with me, chewing on stuff because he is getting all four of his front upper teeth at the same time. Granted they both wake up fairly late for little kids-Colette wakes up anywhere from 7am to 10am, and Johnathan if left alone will sleep until nearly noon. Anyways, I am not asking for advice, maybe a little pity, and just a tad of gratitude if your child doesn't do this. Actually I am just venting:)

I just made a new blog: http://yu-zen.blogspot.com/
Lately I have been wanting to make all kinds of stuff. I started an Etsy account to try to sell things but the blog is to kind of test out my ideas first, get suggestions and exposure. Anyway I love you all and I hope you have a great week

can't sleep
I can't sleep because I have a cold and took dayquill which is keeping me awake all night.
Well I have to say I love my job. It's extremely challenging but so rewarding. Trying to organize an entire organization . . . I feel we're making progress daily.
the kids are so much fun. Johnathan is a speed crawler now and Colette is finally learning that bottles are only for bedtime. nicolle's teacher today told her she has the most drawing talent of anyone in her art class, she made some really cool pictures mixing pencil and watercolor today. I hope she'll stick with it, she's really good.
i love the snow but it was nice to have some sunshine. I got to go snowboarding a few weeks ago with a group of korean kids and it was so fun. I'd like to make it out into the mountains more, nicolle and I went cross country skiing this past weekend and the sunshine was great.
Oh mom and chris sorry I have your guitar, I took it for a talent show on Saturday with our branch. I played the guitar part, recorded and looped it, played a bari sax, looped it, and then played a song on the flute for nicolle, all live in front of the branch. It was a little awkward but fun to do something different. nicolle tells me she likes the bari better than any of the other saxes, she says it's sexy. mom says the bari's sexy because it's like an older man who takes his time, and hits the lower notes not because he can't go high anymore but because slow and low is so much better. My friend's letting me borrow it until august so hopefully by then I can find a permanent bari addition to my saxophone family.
well I voted for Obama of course. who else? but I don't talk politics with family or in the workplace, too much conflict. It seems about everyone I know is pretty conservative politically, so it's best to keep it hush.
It's been fun doing the hip-hop thing again, I like the combination of jazz and rap. We filled the club to 70% capacity on our first show, hopefully this will go far. I'm learning moderation as I burn my musicians out by working them all too hard. My boss tells me constantly to slow down, that other people don't want to go at that pace. It's a learning process, that's for sure. Managing my own bands has taught me a lot abut managing employees, it's slowly coming into place at work. At first I thought I had to fix everything and get it all under control right away, but I see now that it's a process. who wants to be done with something too fast anyway, the journey's what it's all about. Keeping your integrity and ethics in place throughout the journay is more important than having the successful accomplishment.
well I'm all doped up on over the counter cold medicine, imagine if I got some real drugs. I drank some coke the other day and it wiped me out the next day. pretty sad.
well if anybody's in town tomorrow night I'm playing a valentine's dinner at La Parrilla Latina 7-9pm, 4115 South Redwood Road Taylorsville. Maybe the snow won't be so bad tomorrow, but the way it was coming down tonight I guess we'll have to wait and see.
hasta luego
