Love all around

I miss all of my friends and family right now, sitting at the computer at a quarter to midnight. The draft from the cracked window in the living room keeps shooting chills through my hairy legs. They are just hairy enough to be gross but not enough to be functional as heat trappers. I felt like venting a bit, bear with me and there might be a few pictures of the adorable children at the end of the post...
On the death of President Hinckley, may we all be as loved and as lucky, to die surrounded by family, with a clear mind and a good life behind us. I hope I don't offend anyone by saying that I am not exactly sad; I was sad when I heard that Steve Irwin died, I was sad when I heard that Princess Diana died, I was shocked when I heard that Heath Ledger died, they still had so much to contribute and maybe even remedy, but President Hinckley strikes me as the kind of person that didn't have many regrets and was ready to move on.
On the cutest children in the world (no offense); Johnathan has two shark teeth that he bites EVERYTHING with. It is excruciating. His favorite thing to do is bite me while nursing and laugh when I scream and jump in pain. So much for his sweet temperament. He is also effectively getting around. It is not exactly a crawl on his knees, more like an army crawl. He can get up on his knees and he can even pull himself up to a stand , where he stands there looking around at the new world that he has found a foot and a half above ground level. He is also a vacuum cleaner. He can find anything suitable for choking on anywhere, no matter how often we clean and vacuum, which leads me to believe he is a magician pulling stuff out of thin air, or Colette is slipping him stuff in an effort to be the only child again.
As for Colette she is talking a ton, she repeats anything we say, especially stuff like "piece of crap" and "stupid thing" ( things that we mumble to ourselves when her bottle leaks milk everywhere or the poltergeist stereo turns on by itself full blast to some freaky music)
She is crazy about animals, she calls "come ere kitty" or "et's go ome doggy" and "I oant two kittys mama an two doggy". I actually started bugging Rob to let us get a dog for her, until I came to my senses with visions of the poor animals eyes bugging out because she was squeezing it to hard, a-la Elmira from Tiny Toons. Instead I am going to be looking in to a few more preschool options.
Oh and I came by this quote the other day and it blew me away:
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
Mahatma Ghandi

I had to teach the Sunday School lesson for our young single adults last Sunday and I was talking about the two great Commandments and Christs' message of love and peace and out of nowhere one of the single adults says something to the effect about how same sex marriage and abortion are a big issue that the world wants us to believe is not a big deal and it just gave me waves of sadness that people can easily think about people as issues and not as people. There is such a lack of compassion and love, especially from a group of people that think of themselves as devoutly Christian. I want to be a follower of Christ, one that does not think that I am more deserving than others just because of the circumstances I was born into, one that doesn't recoil at the thought of equality across race, gender, beliefs, or profession. If God is a father than how could he be less than welcoming to all of his children? I am just voicing some thoughts here so don't freak out on me, ok?
OK.
So now if you've read through my mental diarrhea you get to see some pictures:)

Doesn't this look cozy? Well it is not. At least not at first. And when you have two babies on either side of you you don't dare get up to pee. Still it is fun to have both my babies to snuggle with.

Next Elisa is demonstrating how little I "rough house" with my kids. This was the only picture that Johnathan didn't look like he was terrified, probably because he was closer to the ground. Sorry about not turning it. Finally we have a picture obviously taken by someone with enormous amounts of skill; Mackenzie. It is too bad she didn't get Colette at the wedding wearing nothing but tights and a sweater because her dress was "too tight mama!" Luckily Rob found a dress for her in the car.
Well until next time, "goo nyte, goo yuck"

My band's playing tonight at Sundance $5 admission

Tonight I'm playing with my jazz band at Sundance for $5, it's going to be a lot of fun, with two singers and a full band we're going to be playing fun dancable stuff not elevator music!

starts at 8:00 ends around 11pm.

Drive safe if you come, but they usually keep the roads pretty clear.

Also anyone who's coming don't forget to bring your digital camera/video camera so that you can document the event, then email me the photos, I'd love it!

Rants

Oh Dang it! We got a new camera that came with new software and I haven't really gotten a hang of it yet so sorry that the pictures are the WRONG WAY!
Anyway Colette LOVES statues. There is a bronze statue at the Provo Library of a little boy in a chair reading a book and every time Colette sees it she runs up to him and tries to talk to him. She tries to climb on his lap and read the book. When he doesn't move or talk back she points him out to me and softly strokes his arm. What a weirdo:)
